Biography

Dr. Blanco is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC). He earned his medical degree at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University. Following his internship and residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/CUMC, he completed a fellowship in gynecologic urology and pelvic surgery at the University of California, Irvine and a fellowship in advanced pelvic surgery, urodynamics, and gynecologic laser surgery at Memorial Medical Center of Long Beach, California. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

 

Dr. Blanco has published several articles on treatment of urogynecologic disorders and PAP screening. He has received the Sloane Hospital's Howard C. Taylor Award of Excellence in Teaching as well as the National Faculty Teaching Award. He specializes in pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic reconstructive surgery, and fibroids. He focuses on abnormal pap/colposcopy and Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) to treat cervical dysplasia, as well as hormone replacement therapy and oral contraceptive management.
