Biography
Dr. Thornton has been helping couples build families since he completed a fellowship in reproductive medicine in 1996, at the University of Southern California. He received additional training in advanced reproductive surgery at The Cleveland Clinic before joining the faculty at Columbia University Medical Center. Although his interests include all aspects in the treatment of infertility, Dr. Thornton is particularly recognized as an outstanding reproductive surgeon with advanced skills in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. His extensive research background focuses on the prevention of post-surgical scar tissue formation and its relationship to infertility. Dr. Thornton is currently directs the Egg Donation Program at The Center for Women’s Reproductive Care (CWRC), and serves as medical director of CWRC’s White Plains office. Dr. Thornton has a special interest in minimally-invasive surgery, egg donation, management of leiomyomas (fibroids), and all aspects of In Vitro Fertilization.
