Dr. Guarnaccia is a graduate of the University of Rochester and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center in 1995, and a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1997. Upon completion of his subspecialty training, Dr Guarnaccia held faculty positions in the Division of Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at the Tufts-New England Medical Center (1997-1999) followed by an appointment at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School (1999-2004) before returning to New York City to assume the Medical Directorship of Columbia University’s Center for Women’s Reproductive Care (CWRC). As CWRC’s Medical Director, Dr Guarnaccia has contributed to the establishment of Columbia as a premier infertility center, catering to couples struggling with a full range of infertility issues, independent of financial constraints. CWRC has now been designated a Center of Excellence by most major insurance providers. Since founding the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis Program at the CWRC in 2004, Dr Guarnaccia has continued to direct the program, employing the latest, cutting-edge technologies to assist those families grappling with potentially life-altering, inherited, genetic diseases. Dr. Guarnaccia has a special interest in pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, fertility preservation, and all aspects of infertility care.
