Biography
Dr. Castaño received an undergraduate degree from Brown University and completed medical school at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis. She was a resident at the University of Texas Southwestern/Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, and completed a fellowship in family planning at Columbia University Medical Center, where she also obtained a Master’s of Public Health in Epidemiology. Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Castaño speaks Spanish. Her clinical practice focuses on office-based procedures. Her research interests include contraceptive use by HIV-infected women, the folate status of reproductive-aged women and the use of technology to improve contraceptive continuation. Dr. Castaño serves as Director of the Faculty Practice.
