In Loving Memory of Dr. Gaddipati

Sreedhar Gaddipati, M.D.

It is with extreme sadness that our Department now faces the untimely and sudden passing of our beloved colleague Dr. Sreedhar Gaddipati. We are heartbroken for his wife Paulina and his two children, Matthew and Grace. Known to all of us as Sree, he was a gifted physician and very devoted to his patients. They appreciated his supportive care and his extraordinary skill managing complicated pregnancies. He took great pride in nurturing our medical students, residents and fellows, many of whom pursued careers in Maternal-Fetal Medicine because of his mentorship.

The Department is extremely appreciative of the exceptional care he received in the Coronary Care Unit by the Staff and Cardiothoracic Team. Sree’s family is grateful to the many Faculty, Fellows, Residents, Students, Nurses and Staff who stopped by to pay their respects, share ‘Sree stories’ and say goodbye. The support was a touching demonstration of how much everyone cared about Sree. His loss to our institution and department is immeasurable.

We have created the “Dr. Sree Gaddipati Fund” to continue his legacy and to honor his contribution to patient care and medical education. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Columbia University OB/GYN – Dr. Sree Gaddipati Fund and sent to:

 622 West 168th Street, Suite 1628

New York, NY 10032

Attn: Carolyn Hoare

Donations can also be made online through the Columbia University Gift Systems.

With deepest condolences,

Mary E. D’Alton, M.D.
