Whether you have already matriculated at P&S or are still exploring your options, this website is designed to help outline the structure and objectives of the Obstetrics & Gynecology rotation as well as your responsibilities and educational opportunities within the clerkship. OB/GYN is an extremely rewarding and diverse field of medicine. As a student on this rotation, our patients will allow you the privilege of sharing in some of the most intimate aspects of their lives -- the birth of a child, the vulnerability of undergoing surgery, and pelvic examinations to name a few. You will be exposed to extensive and unique experiences in both clinical practice and academic research and will hopefully gain new insight into the exciting and challenging specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Welcome to the Obstetrics & Gynecology clerkship at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons! The clerkship is a five week clinical rotation undertaken during the Major Clinical Year of study. Students are assigned to one of three sites -- New York Presbyterian Hospital, Roosevelt Hospital or Stamford Hospital. All three sites offer the benefits of a major teaching center with outstanding house officers and superb faculty, many of whom are leading experts in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
