Sinem Karipcin, MD

Throughout medical school, the profound experiences of patients facing reproductive choices deeply influenced Dr. Sinem Karipcin, inspiring her to blend her scientific interests in genetics and endocrinology with her commitment to empowering women through reproductive endocrinology. Dr. Karipcin is an expert in reducing the risk of genetically heritable diseases.
Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Dr. Karipcin completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at New York Presbyterian - Weill Cornell Medicine, following her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas at Galveston. With over ten years of expertise in fertility and genetics, Dr. Sinem Karipcin joined Columbia University in 2019 as the Founding Director of the Pre-Pregnancy Genetics Program. This program includes specialists from multiple disciplines, aiming to empower families at risk of passing on genetic diseases to make informed reproductive decisions.
Dr. Karipcin actively participates in the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis International Society and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine's PGT interest group. Along with leading the Pre-Pregnancy Genetics Program, she also conducts ongoing research in the field of Reproductive Genetics.
