The Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program at Sloane Hospital for Women at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Irving Medical Center is an exciting, fast-paced program which provides trainees with a wealth of clinical experience and exposure to all facets of our wide-ranging and rewarding specialty. During the course of their training, our house officers gain experience in managing virtually all of the problems that could confront a practitioner in our discipline.

Columbia’s residency program accepts six new residents each year. In 2018, we received more than 800 applications for the Class of 2023. Columbia’s Ob/Gyn residency program is ranked #1 in New York State by Doximity’s Residency Navigator.

The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), also known as The Match, was held this year on Friday, March 19. A record-high 38,376 applicants submitted program choices for 35,185 positions, the most ever offered. At Columbia’s Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons, 171 students participated in the Match. The most popular residencies were internal medicine (42 students), pediatrics (22), psychiatry (16), obstetrics & gynecology (15), ophthalmology (10), and dermatology (7).

Match Day for the Class of 2020 is Friday, March 20, 2020.
