Drug that Prevents Lung Problems in Late Preterm Babies Also Lowers Costs

A new study led by Cynthia Gyamfi-Bannerman, MD, MSc, Ellen Jacobson Levine and Eugene Jacobson Professor of Women's Health in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, showed that a drug given to pregnant women to prevent severe respiratory ailments in preterm newborns reduces health care costs.
