Ob/Gyn faculty honored as Physician of the Year at 2 NYP hospitals
This year, two faculty members in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center were recognized for their outstanding patient care by NewYork-Presbyterian. Janice Aubey, MD, MPH and Karin Schott, MD were both honored as Physician of the Year for their respective hospitals.

Dr. Aubey was selected as the NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital (CHoNY) Physician of the Year for 2017. Dr. Aubey is the Medical Director of the Postpartum Service at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and faculty in the Division of General Ob/Gyn.
Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital is one of the nation’s premier children’s hospitals and one of the largest providers of children's health services in the tri-state area. Postpartum service in the hospital provides support for mother and baby following delivery, helping them to get well-rested, manage medications, and cope with any medical issues that may arise during the early postpartum period. Mother and baby also have access to adult and pediatric specialists in more than 120 specialty and subspecialty areas.
Dr. Schott was selected as the 2017 Physician of the Year for NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital. Dr. Schott completed her medical education at Tel Aviv University in Israel and her residency training at Long Island College Hospital, formerly located in Brooklyn, NY.
NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital is a community hospital located on the northernmost tip of Manhattan at Broadway and 220th Street, serving northern Manhattan, Riverdale and other communities in the Bronx. Columbia’s team of Ob/Gyns at the Allen Hospital deliver more than 2,200 babies a year.
